I'm seeing GREAT activity company wide. You should all be receiving emails from the home office. Taste n Tells are starting back up. Distributors are making the switch from Bronze to Silver and Silver to Gold. Guys, it's happening.

Some folks have asked me "when do I believe the best time to get started REALLY will be"....folks, it's NOW. Our home based business start up costs are low ($398); our monthly over head is low ($50 and our customers can cover that); and our product is ALWAYS in demand (food). I know that we are hearing words like "recession" and even "depression" more often than we like. ALL of us have been affected by the current state of the economy. But I truly believe, once our new President is sworn in, that we will experience a new level of consumer confidence, at least for the first half of 2009. Banks call it a "honeymoon" period. It will be more of an attitude change than anything. When that happens, it will spur further growth for Menage Innovations.

I sincerely hope that those of you who are local to the WNC area will plan to come to one of our Team Meetings this coming week. Huey Maltry and I, along with Mike and Angie forester will be at the Sagebrush Restaurant in Brevard on Monday, 6:00 PM. We'll have some food and discuss the business. Congrats are in Order!!

I wanted to be one of the first to congratulate Danny Wimprine, of New Orleans, for going Silver earlier this morning. The State of Louisiana is wide open and it starts this coming Friday night at our first major event inside the City of New Orleans.

This Economy and how it relates to this business......

The majority of people, no matter what part of the country you are in, are being affected by the downturn. Pride is the biggest killer in this business! Some people are not willing to swallow the pride and try MLM. Myself on the other hand, show me a way to make money(as long as it is legal!) and I will give it a shot if the timing is right in my life. Here is what I am getting at. As 401k's continue to drop, as small, medium and major size companies continue to put on hiring freeze's and eliminate raises across the board, people are going to hit that point where they have no choice but to "at least look at it".
This is not for everybody, we all know that but the majority of people know the money at stake here. I have seen out in the field that 70 percent of the people I have come in contact with have tried Networking before. If you strive to work this business the entire year and stay the course, you will be rewarded. You have to set up appointments and show the plan on a consistent basis to grow. "Rome wasn't built in a day" and the same goes for this. You have to set goals and not get off track. End of story.

p.s. The Charleston, SC(specifically Johns Island) market was opened up today by Venecia Willoughby in Asheville, NC!! What a great Menage territory this is going to be. Have a great weekend.

Hello Team Menage! What a great year we had as a company in ’08. Thank you all for a great finish in December. Menage had a record breaking month of sales in December in Gourmet Food. While other companies both conventional and especially network marketing saw tremendous drops in December and fourth quarter sales, Menage Innovations posted record numbers and growth. The food is both unique and powerful in the market place and is proving every month to be tremendous in network marketing through Menage. Continue to grow your team and sales in ’09.

SILVER

Vincent Tillis has been gaining on the number 1 position at Silver and finally clinched the top spot in December. Great job Vincent on #1 and for hitting the Silver Double. Rochelle Massey was number #2 completing the month just behind Vincent. Jon Carroll slipped out of the number 1 spot to #3 in December but continues to show consistent growth each month. James “Skipper” Ertle ended #4 showing each month how consistency pays off. David Carlson rounded out the top group at #5.

GOLD

Mary Lynn McPherson and Alan Silverblatt (MLA) were the #1 Golds for another month. MLA is pushing hard growing a great business and is in the hunt for top money earner honors for the year. Sam Kelly (SSR) finished in 2nd place for the month. Congrats are in order for Sam, Sid, and Rose for their leadership and team building in ’08. Jack Gadd was #3 among all Golds. Tim Kuhlman ended the month #4 and has been consistent throughout the year among all leaders. The ever steady Chuck Dalton finished #5 and has been in the top five all year. Great job guys.

PLATINUM

No shock here, Jack Gadd continues month in and out to run away with the #1 position. Sam Kelly finished 2nd among Platinums and is going to give Jack a strong contest in ’09.

Lynn Grantland and Ronnie Cottrell rounded out the top for Platinum leaders.

Once again, Mark Carroll, and I want to congratulate you and thank you for the great year. We are looking forward to an even better ’09 for both the company and you and your teams.

I want to remind you of what a special opportunity that we still have through Menage Innovations. I was on the phone with Mark Younger and asked him how the company was doing. Of course, there was a lull of overall activity during the Holidays, but "the workers kept on working" and there was company growth. He also has said that "everyone that's in now could become millionaires and has opportunity that just won't be there when we start to reach saturation, which will be years from now". Do you believe it? Do you truly believe that Menage Innovations can make you that kind of money? I do..... But, I also understand that it can be hard to believe when everything else in the world seems so bleak. Menage can do this for you but YOU MUST be persistent at a few things.....

You MUST show the plan daily....become proficient at it and SHARE it with everyone you know. Don't be afraid or embarrassed by it. I've seen professionals that I know working at Fast Food joints to try to make ends meet....nothing wrong with that, but would you rather take someone's order at the drive through window for $7 per hour or would you rather show someone Menage and earn Fast Start Bonus, Residual Income and more?

You MUST stay connected....Attend Meetings and webinars, FREQUENTLY. If you do not make an effort to stay connected to the group, then you will not have the necessary "fire" to keep you going. By staying connected to the group, you can learn from other people's experiences as well as share your own so they can learn from you. There is an absolute overwhelming amount of support involved with Menage. If you don't believe it, then you're not taking advantage of it.

You MUST share the product with people through Taste n Tell dinners at your home, or friends homes, in order to grow this business. This is essential to gaining team members as well as customers. Folks, one of the FIRST things that you should have done is order food and schedule a taste n tell at your home with friends and neighbors. Remember, ONE customer can cover your PBV for the month, making your business overhead $0 monthly.

There are a few of our team members that have had to cancel their Autoship. I want you to remember, just because you are off autoship DOES NOT mean that you are out of the company and that you have no opportunity with Menage. Guys, you should FIRST AND FOREMOST, look for a customer that will order and cover that over head for you. Second, KEEP SHOWING the plan. When you have a team member join you, use that Fast Start Money to cover your autoshipment for the next few months.

So sorry for the lengthy email, but when it comes to Menage, I have so much to say. I started working with the Menage in April of '08. There are currently 80 Distributors on my team.....YOU are one of them. I appreciate you greatly and will do whatever I can to make our business a success, including meetings, webinars, taste n tells, and more. I'm asking that you do the same....go out of your way to introduce this special opportunity to everyone you come into contact with. No one will be offended or upset at you if you show them the plan.....if you deny them the opportunity by NOT showing them is when they might be upset.

Pick Up Orders

Pickup Orders at Menage Innovations

Menage Innovations is proud to provide the pickup service to local reps to be able to pick up products at the home office. However, we often have products that go unclaimed and are left sitting in our pick up area through the week. Gourmet Food products must be picked up no later than 3pm on Friday of each week or they will be discarded and not replaced or refunded. Distributors need to make arrangements to have their products picked up or shipped if they know that they will not be able to pick them up.
The USDA will not permit the return of a food product to the food plant once it leaves the premises. Further, we have no freezer space at the Menage home office to store product.

Things Aren't What They Seem

If the following scenario doesn't apply to you, then consider yourself Lucky during these times.

John and Suzy Public have been "rolling thru" life the past 5 years or so doing just about whatever they want financially in life. A $325,000 Beautiful French Country home and two cars in the driveway (his a new Infiniti sportscar and hers a GMC Suburban to carry their kids off to the private school they attend).

Then his partly commission based job started to be effected by the downturn in the economy and that $2,500-$5,000 Christmas bonus he used every year to pay off his Christmas credit card debt is no longer available. His salary is suffering due to down sales and now they, as a family, wonder how they are going to keep up their lifestyle.

In a perfect world, they would sell their home fast (homes are selling, just not as fast in most areas of the country) and get a little smaller home. Very hard to do right now. Dump off those two cars for used ones (because they are carrying around 1,100/month in two car notes). Hard to do right now in the car arena. So his only option is to make more money.

I know, he can go get a job working retail or something similar. Wait a minute, most companies (including retail) are not hiring as much right now as this time last year. THERE IS A SELECT FEW PEOPLE THAT MAKE THE KIND OF INCOME THAT WILL NOT DO MENAGE, QUITE FRANKLY, THEY DON'T NEED TO. HOWEVER, THE MAJORITY IN MY CITY AND YOURS NEED THE EXTRA INCOME RIGHT NOW. It is your job to show it to them. If they want to pass on it, you are still going to be their friend but at least you threw out the life raft and gave them a chance to grab on.

Working Through the Holidays

Hello Team Menage.

Many people underestimate the power of building a business during the Holidays and assume that very few people would be interested. However, contrary to belief November and December are two key months in the industry. Despite the economy, people are already in a spending mode. Before I experienced this dynamic as a distributor I had trouble understanding. During my first year in networking in 2001 the country had just experienced the tragedy of 9-11 leaving the fall of the stock market and job losses in its wake. Similar to what we are now experiencing with the down economy and contrary to what one might have expected, my business doubled in November over October and doubled again in December. In fact, the largest meeting that I had ever had to date was the Thursday between Christmas and New Years. I did not plan a meeting for that week but the team said they had family in from out of town and wanted me to hold a meeting. That night we had to ask the distributors to go outside so all the guests could have a place to sit. One of the guests that came joined and went on to put in 7000 reps becoming a top money earner in that company.

Second, people are looking for a way to earn additional cash to pay for Christmas. Many people must come to grips with their income and household expenses each Christmas. At no other time of year is cash flow on the forefront of people’s lives than the Holidays. Before networking rescued me, I would find myself going deeper and deeper into debt each Christmas with credit cards. I would charge Christmas and hope to have it paid off by the next Christmas. Many people are out there just like me looking for a financial solution. Therefore, show the business to as many people as you can and give them a way to earn additional cash to go towards Christmas and debt.

Third, people are looking ahead to year end tax debt. More and more people are becoming savvy to tax write offs and tax credits. Share with them the benefits of owning their own home based business. The expense of the business ($398 or $199) is a tax credit and any expense used to run their business can be deducted. For example, any business related expenses such as meals, mileage or gas, hotel, cell phone, internet, and a portion of home expenses may be included.

More over, Holiday’s are a wonderful time to share Menage Innovations with new prospects. You will see friends and relatives during Thanksgiving and Christmas that you haven’t seen in a long time. If you are hosting a dinner or party, serve your Menage Gourmet foods for your guests to enjoy. Let them know that the great food is part of your line of products from your new business. Many of your guests will want to know how they can make income from home just like you are. Others may wish to become customers.

Another great business builder is using Menage products as gifts for your friends and family. How many people have you known that became aware of Omaha Steaks from a gift? Many became customers and later sent someone else a gift from Omaha Steaks. Take the same approach and give or send your Christmas list recipients a gift from Menage along with product brochures and your online store website. Teach your team to do the same thing and watch your business grow.

When you mail out your Christmas cards this year be sure to include information about your new online business. A simple note or PS at the end of your message with your website address will peak their interest. Offer them the promo code if you wish giving them $10 off the retail price to further increase their curiosity. Include a flyer or brochure promoting your business and products. A simple way is to copy the front page of your online store showing the Holiday ham. Be creative and share your ideas with your team. Keep in mind that prospecting and building is like sowing seeds. You can’t just plant one corn kernel and expect it to grow an entire field of corn. Sow as many seeds as you can. Also, the corn doesn’t come up over night and produce a rich harvest. The corn seed must be cared for throughout the long process. The young plant must be fertilized, watered, protected from weeds, birds, bugs, etc. Likewise, many of the seeds you are sowing through the Holidays will be harvested in January and February.

I was talking with one of our Orlando distributors today. Rick Humphreys reminded me that people either motivate themselves or not. We can only inspire one another. Fear is our major motivator. It will either motivate us to take action or not. Fear of failure keeps people from realizing their potential or it makes us successful. It is no different with Menage.

I am afraid of failure. Going to meetings, doing webinars, calling new suspects, showing the plan and showing my team I care are easy when I consider failure as the alternative. When I have trouble picking up the phone to call a new suspect I remember my fear of failure. I know I will fail 100% if I do not make the call. I know I will fail only 80% if I make the call since two out of ten suspects will become good prospects and ultimately a distributor. This failure rate would make us a millionaire in pro sports.

This failure rate will make us a million a year with Menage.

People need Menage now more than ever. It is amazing to be in a business that is growing while our economy is shrinking. All indications are we are at the right place, at the right time with the right products. The commitment and character of our owners, being debt free, first to MLM in an emerging market with the largest privately owned food broker in America just adds to our ultimate success potential.

As Mark and I looked over the final leader board totals for October it is clear that many of you truely are working for your teams and your family. The company had a great push at the end with numbers soaring to close the month. Team building and product sales rose subtantially during the last 10 days of October. Let's keep up the pace in November to produce much welcomed income for you and our Menage family members.

Many of you have heard me talk in the past about the key to sustaining a productive team and business in Menage. The successful person in Menage must build a strong infrastructure for their business. They must build a strong relationship with their team members and be CONSISTENT.

The system is simple:

**Make a list

**Make calls

**Set appointments

**Show the plan(don't just talk about the opportunity)

**Followup

More specifically, every step builds on the next step of the business. Without a solid foundation a business will be unstable. Many people ask "How do I get a good consistent meeting going each week and keep growing my team?" First, we must examine what people are looking for and what drives them. In the beginning stages of a business before anyone has made a pay check three things get people excited and keep them engaged: thier need (why, destination, financial goal,etc.), their mission(purpose and reason for earning income), and fun(socialization). Pay checks become the driving force in the end, but the first three things keeps a team together before the pay checks role in.

Taking each phase step by step, a new team member must get help from their upline (when possible) to present the plan to their prospects. Most people don't sign up on the spot and that is normal. To help them fully experience the power of the business, the fun and income, a Taste abnd Tell must be in place to immediately bring the prospect to within their first week after having seen the plan. At the Taste and Tell the new prospect will be surrounded by other Menage team members that are foccussed on their goals and team members that are having fun. The new prospect will want to be part of the EXCITEMENT, making additional income and having fun. The concept just makes too much sense.

The Taste and Tell HOME PARTY is the key to massive growth in your business. First, anyone can host friends in their home to try the food and see the plan. It is not feasible to expect a new team member to create a hotel or conference center meeting in the beginning. The new team member's prospects will feel comfortable and relaxed coming over to their house to try some great food and have a GOOD TIME. Keep in mind that "duplication" is the key and anyone can duplicate a Taste and Tell in their home. Second, at a Taste and Tell HOME PARTY the host has the ability to prepare our great gourmet food the way they like with their own specail recipes, sauces, and marinades and spices. Likewise, the Taste and Tell HOME PARTY allows for a great visual presentation of the food. Imagine the prospect entering the relaxed setting of a home smelling the delicious aroma of gourmet food surrounded by happy excited people having fun. Now imagine them seeing the food and then tasting the food. All of the senses will be involved creating the perfect setting to close the deal.

Once a new prospect joins, it is important for their upline to help them host a Taste and Tell in their home. The upline must keep their Taste and Tell in place each week(consistency) but must immediately work to expand to the new team member's home with another Taste and Tell. For example, Mary Lynn McPhereson's team has done a great job with Taste and Tells. Each week now for several months Mary Lynn has consistently hosted a Taste and Tell in her home every Monday night rain or shine. This is her team's home base. She has in turn helped her new team members expand out into their homes hosting numerous Taste and Tells each week. By having her meetings in so many different homes, Mary Lynn's team has continued to rapidly grow because of consistency, duplication, FUN, thus equalling great PAY CHECKS for her and her team members.

Don't misunderstand, large weekly group meetings are also essential and at some point a large conference center is needed to hold all of the team members and guests in one location. Sam Kelly and Chuck Dalton's Germantown meeting is a great example of the next step in the system and is essential. However, they did not get to that point over night and it took many individual presentations and Taste and Tells to reach that point.

The system is a cirle and not necessarily a stair step. You begin one on one or two on one, move to the Taste and Tell, expand to a conference center, and start the week all over with one on one's and two on one's, Taste and Tells, and then once again the conference center meeting. See the cycle.

In the end anyone can work the business as they wish and that is the beauty of being an Independent Distributor. Whatever your style or system, work as often as you can, be consistent, and create something anyone can duplicate. Fun is contagious and great food, socialization, and income are a winning formula.

We have had two weeks of the strongest attendance ever at our Germantown meetings. I know the Delta of Mississippi and Jackson are getting record attendance. Asheville is strong with expansion in a big way in Atlanta with their planned meeting the first of November.

Belief keeps me motivated. Menage exceeds the Harvard Business School's criteria for a "once in-a-lifetime opportunity".

I just wanted to remind every rep that a rising tide raises all ships. A high rep attendance at meetings creates excitment.

It is great to see reps at a meeting even when they don't have guests. This is what bonds us. We meet to complete the puzzle, putting pieces together one meeting at a time.

Remember the preacher who visited the man who stopped attending services. They sat next to the man's fire drinking tea staring at the flames. No words were spoken. The preacher took a bright and hot coal off the fire with a pair of tongs. The preacher sat the coal outside the fire by itself. The man and his preacher watched the coal get dark and cold. Then, the preacher looked at his watch and hurried to his feet to leave. Before the preacher left, he took the tongs, reached for the cold lump of coal, placed it back in the fire and the two men watched the coal become bright and hot once more. Before closing the door, the man thanked the preacher for the firey sermon.

Purpose of Holiday Promotion

As we move into the week completing our first weekend with the reduced prices to buy a distributorship in Menage Innovations, recruiting has tripled and even quadrupled for many individuals. We have a witnessed a renewed commitment among many distributors that had lost momentum. The lowered signup fees, a $200 savings, have sparked new excitement among long standing team members and new team members alike.

Our goal at Menage is to give more individuals an opportunity to start a home based business by providing an affordable price with our new “Holiday Promotion”. Many of our leaders have continued to ask how we could help more people to get involved during these hard economic times. In response to the request, we lowered the price by $200.

The intent of the program is to increase team building numbers which in turn increases product sales. Increased distributor sign ups will increase product sales enhancing the rate of growth of the Fort Knox Residual pay which is solely based on product commission.

Unlike many other companies in the industry, we pride ourselves in having “no breakage”. Breakage usually occurs when a company sets goals and quotas that are too high for an average person to obtain and benefits only a select group of reps. In other words, the majority of the reps can’t qualify their position thus losing their pay while the chosen few make higher bonuses based on others’ losses. At Menage, we are committed to “no breakage” and only paying out what we take in. In addition to paying out an astounding 43% on product sales, we pay out the sign up fees to the reps and make company dollars on product sales.

At this early stage in the game we have witnessed distributors increasing their recruiting efforts by 50% on an average (based on working reps during the same time frame last month). In real dollar terms, the reps mentioned above have increased their product commissions by 50% while making the same or more coding dollars. For example, a rep that recruited 10 new team members during the same time frame last month now has recruited 15 new team members during the same amount of days this month. This rep has made more coding dollars and a considerable amount more product commission pay. The rep has earned 50% more Ft. Knox pay!

The short term goal for Menage is to increase recruiting by 50% thus increasing product sales by 50% and higher. We will take a snap shot at the end of this 90 day promotion to see if the lower sign up fees have stimulated the growth of your downline team. As part of this promotion, we want to see your product Ft. Knox commissions dramatically increase.
The long term goal of Menage is to stimulate growth at such a rapid rate to hold the sign up fees at the lowered price, while increasing the pay plan.
As we near the end of this 90 day Holiday promotion we will evaluate the promotion to see if we should extend the $199 and $398. Each new rep you sign up is vote for “yes”.

Good Morning Team!

I was searching the internet for helpful training and motivational tools that I could share with you and I found three 10 minute video clips by Tim Sales, a giant in MLM. He's a phenomenal trainer, especially since he started out just like the rest of us....doing something else. Please take time to watch at least this first "YouTube" video entitled: "MLM: Do Most People Fail?". In this clip, Tim wants YOU to know that you have chosen a phenomenal industry with potential to change your, and your family's, lifestyle. Naysayers and other negative people will tell you that you shouldn't (or they wouldn't) join an MLM because "most people fail at it". Well...I have two things in response to that.....

1....you can't fail unless you try. Like I've said before, there are two kinds of people in this world - Spectators and Participators. Spectators never fail because they never try, they just sit on the porch (comfort zone) and watch all of us strive for our goals, ridiculing all the way. By joining our team, you are a participator!

2...be a leader, not a follower. Make up your own mind, don't let others decide what you will or won't do based on THEIR experience. What if Lance Armstrong decided to not ride to victory in the Tour De France because a guy like me who couldn't ride a bike up my own steep drive told him "You can't win that...most people fail"? Because he rode, he won multiple times setting and breaking records. I think you get the picture.....if someone says you can't, fuel your fire with it....go harder, achieve your goals. YOU CAN!

Pickup Orders at Menage Innovations

Menage Innovations is proud to provide the pickup service to local reps to be able to pick up products at the home office. However, the last several weeks we have had many products left unclaimed. Beginning next week, October 13, any products unclaimed by 3pm each week by Friday will be discarded and not replaced or refunded. Distributors need to make arrangements to have their products picked up or shipped if they know that they will not be able to pick them up.
The USDA will not permit the return of a food product to the food plant once it leaves the premises. Further, we have no freezer space at the Menage home office to store product.

The quality of the training the next morning was perhaps one of the best we have had with 108 people in attendance. Ray Croyle and Ron Goss hosted a Taste and Tell Saturday night to end the weekend. In just a few short months team NC has grown to several hundred people strong and still growing. What is more amazing, most of the people in Menage in North Carolina are from just one small area of the state. The sky is the limit.

Many great questions have come up lately about our wonderful gourmet food. Menage has made great strides over the past two years adding a large variety of food products in various popular categories. When we opened, we had only three products: bacon wrapped beef filet, bacon wrapped chicken breast, and a bacon wrapped pork loin. Now we have dozens of combinations of food products and are adding more.

Our goal has been and is to provide great gourmet food items in numerous categories to fit any family budget. We also have a variety of choices to fit every pallet. For the more refined pallet, we recommend the USDA choice filets (4 6oz 0r 4 8oz). These steaks are the highest quality on our menu and compare to Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Once you try this filet you will be hard pressed to find another filet that will match the flavor and tenderness.

Keep in mind that every pallet is different and that people from different regions of the country prefer different flavors and products. Talk to your customers and new distributors about what type of products they prefer. If you have a family that often eats at O’Charleys or Applebee’s, they might prefer the Bacon Wrapped Filet. If you have a family that prefers a Ruth’s Chris Steak House, they might prefer our top of the line choice beef products. We have something for every taste bud and budget.

After much deliberation and consideration, we must raise the shipping charges per category to offset the rising fuel surcharges that FedEx has increasingly assessed Menage over the past two years.
We are proud that we have been able to hold the rate constant while our competitors have repeatedly raised their shipping prices over the past two years. For example, Omaha Steaks has risen from $12.99 to $16.99 for a cooler up to $80. More specifically, our products that have shipped for $11.99 (cooler up to $100) will now be $13.99. All top money earners have the same thing in common, they have weekly taste and tells for the personal touch. Mary Lynn McPherson (Jackson, MS)is the "Queen of Taste and Tell's". Her organization has seen tremendous growth in the last two months due to her commitment to this vehicle. Then she hosts weekly meetings for teaching, training and business overview. Another example is Joe Lasher(North Carolina) who attends or hosts several small intimate Taste and Tells on a weekly basis, while personally sponsoring throughout the week. Hello Team Menage.
If you have been keeping up with the news lately you have certainly read or heard about the state of the economy. The housing markets, the banking systems, and fuel prices have been at the top of the headlines. In the aftermath, economists are predicting a downturn in retail sales during the last quarter compared to 2007 especially in terms of luxury purchases during the holiday season. In particular new car sales, jewelry, electronics, clothing and accessories are expected to drop in sales over previous years.
According to Bloomberg.com in the September 12 article, Bloomberg stated that “U.S. retailers dropped in August and prices at the wholesale level fell for the first time this year as Americans cut spending in the face of job losses and record foreclosures.”
In another article written by Shawn G. DuBravac, CFA, he sights that while sales are stalling, the fourth quarter will provide an upturn in retail purchases online over the previous three quarters. More specifically, e-commerce retail is significant in the fourth quarter accounting for 33% of yearly sales. Another plus for e-commerce retail purchasing is the number of individuals purchasing online. DuBravac notes that in 2003 40% of consumers were likely to purchase online. The number of consumers likely to purchase online rose to 56% in 2006.
Two important facts worth noting from of all of this information is that more and more people are staying home to purchase products online and that online food sales will see an increase in the fourth quarter. In the September 10 newsletter from Internet Retailer, the IR Top 500 retailers in the Guide’s food segment stated online food sales increased by 12% over 2007.
Most notable, online food sales increased in the high-density areas of population such as New York City. The article sighted the difficulty of traveling to the grocery stores, the hassle of hauling groceries home, and fuel prices. Specifically, niche online retailers such as Green Mountain Coffee and Omaha Steaks saw an increase in sales in recent years.
Many of the major networks have been predicting that during the current hard times of job losses and cut backs, that food sales will go up while other items will decrease. Dave Ramsey, author of “Financial Peace”, advocated to people during an interview on CNN that people stay home to eat to save money. He stated the value of eating together as a family and the fun social time that people can have over a great meal prepared at home verses paying the high costs of dining out.
What does all of this mean for your Menage Innovations business?
In athletic terms it means you should “Go For It!” Timing has never been better to build a home based business as more and more people are looking for additional income. The question is not will your friends get involved with network marketing, but rather which company will they join. Second, Menage offers the perfect product. While other items are seeing a drop in sales, food sales are going up. Third, online shopping has increased and is at an all time high.
Invite friends over for a Taste and Tell. Show them how they can save money by eating at home, share time with their children, family, and friends, and make an additional income stream by building a home based business through Menage.
Last week was one of best weeks ever in product sales. The bacon wrapped beef filet out sold every other product two to one. The choice ribeyes were second. Several other products were neck and neck: royal red shrimp, chicken breast filets, pork loin, salmon, mahi mahi, crab cakes, and our original Memphis style BBQ sauce.

Hello Team Menage.
Despite the obstacles from the weather in the Gulf and on the East Coast, the teams in those areas are still leading the way across the country. Mark and Gayla Younger, Sam Kelly, and Jack Gadd just returned from a very exciting trip to NC. I will be traveling to MS this week for the area wide leadership meeting and training. Mary Lynn McPherson and Alan Silverblatt along with all of their leaders host a monthly leadership training and I am honored to be attending this month’s event. In fact, this past week they held their first Silver Celebration in honor of all of their new Silvers for the month.

THE LEADER BOARD
The following includes the Silver, Gold, and Platinum Leaders for the month of August:

SILVER LEADERS
August was a great month for Team Mississippi. Thanks to great leadership and Team effort, MLA ( Mary Lynn McPherson and Alan Silverblatt) ended the month #1 among all Silver Leaders. David Carlson of Memphis TN was #2. JMC Concepts ( Ron Goss, Ray Croyle, Jim Coddington, Jamie Johnson, and Randy Shepherd) ended the month ranked #3. Another leader from North Carolina, Walter Clement finished #4. Rounding out the top five and representing Team MS, Dr. Wade and Angela Dowell finished in 5th place.

GOLD LEADERS
In addition to being #1 among Silvers, MLA (Mary Lynn and Alan) finished the month for the first time as the #1 Gold leaders. SSR (Sam, Sid, and Rose Kelly) closed the month #2 yielding the #1 position for the first time in several months. The race is on for September between MS and NC for top honors among the States. TN and AL are in the hunt but are slipping behind after the first week. JMC Concepts completed August in the #3 position. The ever steady Chuck Dalton held on to his top five ranking finishing in 4th place. Chuck has been in the top five since becoming Gold many months ago. Great job Chuck and Team. Dr. Wade and Angela Dowell rounded out the top 5 finishing in 5th place among Golds.

PLATINUM LEADERS
Jack Gadd and his team continue to run away with top honors at Platinum. Jack finished August #1. Lynn Grantland ended up #2 and Ronnie Cottrell finished in 3rd place.

THINGS TO WATCH IN SEPTEMBER
SSR (Sam, Sid, and Rose) are closing in on becoming Menage’s next Platinum. At last count, they were 9 new distributors away from obtaining this great accomplishment within our company. If you are part of their team, you should be commended as well for your great efforts and your part in helping make this possible. Help push your leaders over the top this week.

Keep an eye on Nashville TN. We have a few new leaders cranking up in the middle part of the state.

Just a reminder that we will be holding our weekly meetings at the Avery's Creek Community Center on Glen Bridge Rd off of 191/Brevard Rd. Glen Bridge Rd is one traffic light towards Mills River from where Long Shoals and 191/Brevard Rd connect. The community Center is above the Avery's Creek Fire Station. Parking and the entrance is around the back.
Meetings will begin at 6:30 and last 30 to 45 minutes.

These meetings provide a great opportunity for you to bring your prospective distributors to hear the business opportunity presented as well as for you to learn through repetition and to stay connected.

Hello Team, Maria Atkins contacted me with a tid bit of information that I believe that you will find helpful in preparing and serving your Menage Food Products, especially the Beef Products.

Menage food products have been vacuum sealed for freshness. This means that the air has been completely removed from the packaging. It is important to remove meat products from the packaging, rinse under cold water, and let stand in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before grilling/cooking. This will allow oxygen back into the meat and will ensure that the texture will be great and the flavor outstanding.

I have said many times in meetings "What if you had multiple Taste and Tell's being held across this country(in your downline) on a Monday night, two to three years from now, and you had an opportunity to make money in every one of those homes". Would you like that? That is the definition of True Leverage. It starts with one Taste and Tell @ a time but last night, LEADERSHIP all across this country stepped up(Brandon, MS, Jackson, MS, Brookhaven, MS, Lake Toxaway, NC, Asheville, NC, Jackson, TN, Olive Branch, MS, etc) to make it happen.

Recognition needs to go to Mary Lynn McPherson/Alan Silverblott(Mississippi), Joe Lasher(North Carolina), J & R Mgmt Group (Carolinas), Bean/Herron's(Jackson, TN), Jones/Endeya/Holmes Team (Western N. Carolina), Hitchcocks/Malenky's (DeSoto County), Dowell's(Mississippi Delta Region), Ashley/Lofton's(Brookhaven, MS), Hinckle/Meadow's (Asheville, NC) and many, many more.

Two main things to reflect on as you come into the back stretch of the month of August.

Number One- Whomever produces the most Silvers, wins the GAME....period, end of story....

Number Two-You want to teach and train your people to host Taste and Tell's all down in your organization througout the week and weekend. Remember, true leverage is making money while you are not there. This business is about getting paid on what you start and not what you finish. Remember, the "first wave" can work Menage 3-5 years and after that it will take someone, with the same ability, 6-9 years to make the same amount of money. The opportunity is there. Now, it is yours for the taking.

Gold Master Training and Empire Foods Tour

Hello Team Menage!

Mark, Carroll, and I will be holding the Gold Master Training class from 1pm to 3pm on August 1st in conjunction with the convention, MIL 08.
You do not have to be Gold to attend. Anyone that would like to receive the master training may pay their Gold Master Training fee ($250) and attend the class. Upon reaching the level of Gold, your Gold Master Trainer position will become active allowing you to receive the $40 training bonuses for any Bronze Trainer in your Gold code that you train. For example, a Gold Master Trainer that has achieved the title of Gold and has attended a Gold Master Training class will be paid $40 when they train any new Bronze Trainer entering their Gold Team.

Each year upon the annual anniversary of a person's Gold Master Training, the Gold Master Trainer may renew their training position by paying $199 for their recertification and yearly training class.

The Training is an excellent and essential way to take your business and trainings to the next level. We will focus on the aspects of wealth generation through the compensation plan generated by relationship and team building and product sales.

Hello Team,

Here we are, moving into the last week of July, 2008. I don't know about you, but this month has flown by for me. It's been an odd month for our business. Summer Vacations have definitely put a dent in to our recruiting and team building opportunities. I know that we have several folks that are interested in becoming involved with our business, but might be on the fence. I'd like to help you in any way possible by making calls, emails, etc. After all, it's that type of support that will make us all successful.

The Piano Story

The following is taken from "Your First Year in Network Marketing" by Mark and Rene Yarnell. If you don't have the book...it could be the best $16 you spend this weekend.

The Piano Story:

Imagine an audience of 500 people seated before a stage with a grand piano. suddenly, out walks a person who has never had even one lesson and knows nothing about music. After the applause dissipates, he very aggressively begins to bang out horrible combinations of sounds that literally hurt one's ears. At first, the audience glances around the room in utter shock and disbelief. Following a full ten minutes of pathetic piano beating, the audience begins to boo and hiss. Within a couple of minutes, their boos drown out the performer, who calmly stands, bows and walks off.

As the hacker exits, a pianist with thirty years experience enters from the other side of the stage. He methodically and flawlessly plays a beautiful Mozart concerto. When he's finished, the crowd leaps to its feet and gives him a thunderous ovation as the bows two or three times, then exits the stage.

In the dressing room the expert pianist notices that the first performer is gently humming to himself and adjusting his tie before leaving. Although the expert pianist is somewhat embarrassed to bring up the subject, his curiosity finally gets the best of him. He smiles in the mirror at the first performer, and asks the question:

"Forgive me for intruding, but I notice you aren't particularly offended by what just happened out there. I have to ask you, what's it like to be booed off the stage? I mean, isn't it horribly degrading?"

The gentleman turns around so that he is facing the pianist and with all seriousness responds, "Oh no. I didn't take it personally. I was the Piano."

Perhaps one of the most interesting elements of human nature is our tendency - and to a greater or lesser degree we all possess it - to place blame elsewhere. The truth is, while many people criticize our industry after they fail, it's not the fault of the industry. As in the preceding story, a poor musician can't legitimately blame the piano for his lack of talent.

How To Build Your Business

I wanted to share with you all some of the key elements it takes to grow your business.

1. First, take the time to send every new representive a hand written, personal card. Guys, this is a very important part of building a huge team. The reason I do it, and the reason I suggest you do it, is because every team member appreciates someone that goes over and above to make them feel welcome.

2. Once a new rep comes in the system(anywhere in your downline), the first five minute touch is vital. "Welcome them on board" and ask them if there is anything you can do to help them get out of the gate. First of all, tell them what to say(please tell them not to present this over the phone!) to set up an appointment with a prospect in one minute or less. Secondly, encourage them to host their own "taste and tell" with a minimum of two people.

3. Keep those five minute daily touches to as many reps as possible. As your organization grows, you want to focus on two areas. First, the newest reps that have come into your business and secondly, your leaders all down in your organization.

4. Lastly, it is very important to continue to personal sponsor along the way.
This continuous new growth allows your paychecks to continue to rise.

I personally think that implementing these few small ideas is the main reason people succeed in this business.
